Our story
TSG Community Projects is the nonprofit outreach arm of The Skate Gym in Leander. It exists so money, gear or ability is never the reason someone sits out.
How it started
A shop and a skate school
The Skate Gym started as a skate school and skate shop, built without loans, without grants and without a pile of savings to fall back on.
Skaters kept it going
Getting the park permitted took a long time. While the paperwork moved, the skate community showed up with donated ramps, supplies, cash, labor and coaching. That crew is the reason the park exists.
A nonprofit of our own
Running lean meant outreach always came last. So we started TSG Community Projects as a separate nonprofit, and after two years of work it earned nonprofit status. The shop and school keep running. The nonprofit takes skating to the people who need it most, and donations are tax-deductible.
Our mission
We use skateboarding to promote physical fitness, social development and community connection, with inclusive access to equipment, instruction, mentorship and safe places to skate for people who face barriers to the sport.
